Join a good alliance quickly. You usually do not have to be in the same region as your alliance. You can accept the “newbie” package which contains a city teleporter. (Click on the gift icon at the top left of the Evony window.) The city teleporter will allow you to teleport or move your city to the same region as your alliance. Later on you will get a second package called the “Lords” package which is available when you reach Town Hall level 4. The Lords package will contain an additional city teleporter. For every city you move you will need a city teleporter.

The city teleporter teleports you to a random location within the region. An advanced teleporter is needed if you want to move to a specific location in a region.

Don’t give out your coordinates to other players!

One of the biggest advantages of Evony is that people cannot easily find out where you are on the map. The map is usually 500 * 500. It is hard to scan the map and find players and there is no ability to search and find a player. If they don’t know where you are they can’t attack you.

Spys will sometimes infiltrate an alliance to find coordinates on their members and help in a war. The spy will make note of any players listing their coordinates in alliance chat or on their alliance’s message boards. Keep your coordinates secret except from the officers of your Alliance. Your officers may want to put together a list of coordinates so they can send resources/help your way. Use /whisper to whisper to your officer if they want your coordinates.

To whisper type: “/playername my coordinates are….”

When you type the /playername into the chat window it wills end a private message to that player that no one else can read. You can also send an email message to your officers in your alliance with your coordinates.

BTW you can see your coordinates on the map screen.

Your embassy can be important. You not only need an embassy to join an alliance but it can also help you defend your city.

Based on the level of your embassy you can support armies from your allies. A level 3 embassy will allow you to host 3 of your allies armies to help defend your city. Your allies armies only help defend your city. You cannot control them.

When you host your allies armies you need to feed them. Make sure you have lots of food. However food is the cheapest resource in the game. If you follow my advanced strategies you should have a ton of food and not need very many farms.

Many times you will want to join an alliance and you’ll see that the alliance is based in one region of Evony. This is because a region is a small section of the map maybe 100 x 100 miles or so. If all the members are in this area it will make it easier to assist one another in battles.

Usually your Alliance will want you to teleport to their region of Evony. This is because you will be closer to your allies and they will be better able to help you. If you are 300 miles away no one will be able to help you!

You get two city teleporters. The first is in your “newbie gift box” that everyone gets when they join. The second is in the “lords gift box” that you get when your town hall reaches level 4. A city teleporter helps you because it allows you to move one city to a new region of the map.
